Our aim...
Kenya is an African country with partly vast contrasts. Those without work live in poverty, often without enough food and in miserable hygienical conditions. As everywhere, children are particularly effected.
Although Primary School is free of charge nowadays, there is very often a lack of money for children`s school books, uniforms and other necessary equipment.
Nyeri Childcare pays examination fees and school fees for Secondary Schools. We also take great interest in the children`s individual welfare. To improve education an important aim of ours is to give the children a chance of a hopeful future.
The members of our committee fly to Kenya once a year on our own expenses. During this stay we have repairs done to the buildings accommodating children take decisions regarding the orphanage in general as well as the children and organize all necessary work. By doing so we co-operate with local craftsmen and companies wherever possible and let them thus participate in the project, too.
The specific feature of our association consists of the fact that as a principle we hand over no cash to those in need.
